Sorry for the delay… a few technical difficulties at this end. Anyway, here’s the rundown of what happened after the last NYC video, and the small panic to get home when the airline called and told me my flight was cancelled!!

Ok, here’s what I got up to after my drunken evening out at the Shorty Awards… a little recovery lunching with one of my favourite followers (heck everyone who follows is a favourite follower!!) and one of the most active commenters here on the blog. Thanks Steph for all your comments, and for everything. It was a pleasure meeting you, and I hope we get to hang out again someday.

So, finally the show is over, and Sergio and I are having fun upstairs in the Press Room schmoozing all the reporters and fellow winners…

One thing that I’d like to make one point perfectly clear regarding this video. A friend has pointed out to me that it *sounds* like I say ’stupid show’ in reference to the Shorty Awards show. She has a point, it does sound like I said that. However, I remember recording this portion of the video very clearly and it was not my intention to say that nor do I believe the Shorty Awards to be ’stupid’… nothing could be further from the truth. If I thought the Shorty Awards were stupid I wouldn’t have been there at all. It was merely a slip of the tongue in my usual ’stream of consciousness’ diatribe. Thanks Shorty for understanding, I hope I’ve redeemed myself with this note!! I had a blast and appreciate everything.

Ok, now that I’m finished grovelling, let’s get on with the fun…

So, here’s more backstage fun once I got my nerve up (aka alcohol level up) to corner MC Hammer and Gary Vaynerchuk for some time on camera with me!

further to THIS video I believe I have an apology to make… SORRY GARY!! I totally mispronounced Gary Vaynerchuk’s name in this video and I think you can actually see him consider correcting me then deciding not to!! You are a true gentleman but I do apologize for the slip. Shame on me. Smack me next time you see me, will you? (but not hard! hee hee)

After all this, Sergio and I called it a night for the evening and started roaming the streets of Brooklyn having a whistling contest while trying to hail a taxi to take us back to Manhattan (sorry, didn’t think to get that on video, wish I had!! LOL)… I’ve never met anyone that can whistle through their fingers as loudly as I can… until now. Sergio won that contest. Show off!! haw haw!!

and then finally, after all the excitement was done and I was back safe and sound at my hotel, I decided that I was hungry so wandered down to Arriba Arriba again for a bite to eat and some conversation with the guys that run the place!!

I was actually quite surprised to see how the article turned out… not so much because I was not quoted, but because of how negatively spun the article was about the Shorty Awards in general. I didn’t say anything negative during my interview even though I was prodded to, so I’m assuming that’s why none of my interview was used! Oh well!!! Still fun to be interviewed by such a heavy hitter in the media world!

So now we’re backstage during the awards show, waiting for our turn to go out and accept our awards… so I decided to make a pain in the ass of myself for everyone else that was back there too!! And then MC Hammer and Gary Vaynerchuk showed up (they were presenting awards to some of us)…

Hey gang!! Here’s the video of the show. The site is www.shortyawards.com, but here’s an embed of the video that you’ll find there. Please note this video is TWO HOURS long, and the first hour is just the jazz band that entertained the audience as the venue filled up and the big screen of the tweets that were happening live on Twitter as all this unfolded (and I was tweeting quite a bit too, talking to my friends online who were watching at home). The 2nd hour is the actual show. So if you want to save yourself a little boredom (unless you live for jazz and tweets, skip straight to hour #2 to watch the show.

Ok, so off we go… Sergio and I took a taxi after the other ladies staying in my hotel & nearby decided they didn’t want to take the extra time to go pick him up in the limo they’d hired for the evening. Thanks to them for considering having me along at all, very sweet. They were concerned about getting there on time and left at 515pm (dinner was to start at 545pm). So, after having rushed like mad to get to the limo without making the ladies wait too long for me, and then letting it go without me when they said they wouldn’t take the extra time to pick up Sergio (I wasn’t about to leave him standing on some street corner), I relaxed, got myself pulled together properly and hopped in a taxi. We left his office at about 545pm and got there at pretty much the same time as the limo!! Hurray for Sergio for knowing his way around that town better than the ladies’ limo driver did…It only took us about 15 minutes to get there. Anyway, we weren’t even late, it was only just beginning when we got there. Here’s a quick clip. I knew it wasn’t working out visually so its mostly just audio… but still fun stuff:

And then we hop across the street to the Galapagos Art Space where we got settled and I thought it would be a fun idea to get into the back hallway to do a little vlogging… and rats, the visuals suck again, but what can ya do when you vlog on the fly, eh?

and just for fun, here’s a little drinking game for you guys… count how many times in all these videos that I say I think my date Sergio is an awesome guy!! Every time I mention it, you have to take a drink!! You’ll be hammered in no time!! LOL!! Gee, do you guys think I kinda liked him? Serious props go out to my friend Cameron for setting us up… how’d you know we’d get along so well anyway? Anyway, we had a lot of fun, and he IS a super nice guy! Let me know how many times I mention it in the past and next videos cuz I lost count and I’m kinda curious!! haw haw haw!!
