Oops.

There goes my back.

Doing deadlifts the other day … TWEAK !

Yup, now I’m having a hard time bending over.

Well rats, I guess working out is just too damn dangerous after all, huh?

I mean, we get hurt sometimes.

Pulled muscles, strains and sprains … gee… maybe even a broken bone.

OUCH!

Aren’t we safer if we just sit on the couch not risking injury rather than doing all that stuff to ourselves that might get us hurt?

Are you on a mobile device? You probably can’t see the video, can you? If not, watch it on YouTube here:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5EMrPuJpfFs" "target="blank">Hey! Injury Happens…!!

I dunno about you, but I’d rather live with optimum health and risk a pulled muscle here ‘n there than live my life sitting safely on the sidelines so afraid of the possibility that my health declines and my life could potentially be YEARS shorter as a result.

Hey, injuries HAPPEN. It’s part of the game.

The risk of injury still FAR outweighs the alternative.

And if you have to heal up once in a blue moon because of a boo-boo, you’ll still be far healthier, fitter and slimmer than that guy over there on the sidelines scarfing down a greasy pile of french fries (ug).

The potential risk of injury is a LAME excuse for skipping out on yourself (and yes, that pun was intended … LOL).

No excuses. Go get fit!

Better fitness. Better health. BETTER LIFE!

End of story.

Have a fit, fun and fantastic day.

Final update on how the foot is progressing since I dropped that 35 lb plate on it over a week ago. I'm still getting my workouts in, although I've had to change things up a little to accommodate the foot pain.

Ok, here’s the final update on my latest traumam, which was having dropped a 35 lb plate on my foot over a week ago while working out (see “No Whiners, No Excuses … Just Get ‘er Done!“).

The truth of the matter is that it’s all very well and good to be mentally tough and a charter member of the “No Whiners Club” and not let every stupid little boo boo get you down …

… but it’s a completely other thing to NOT be STUPID about it, if you really do have an injury that needs time to heal.

So, I’ve decided that as much as I WANT to be stupid and go running anyway, it’s going to be better for me in the long run if I just let the damn thing heal …

So, all that being said, I’m gonna be smart and heal …

but while being smart, I’m ALSO gonna find ways that I can still get my good cardio burn in, bum foot and everything!!

After all, I don’t want a ‘bum foot’ FOREVER now, do I?

… and with that, I’m done talking about the foot. It will heal on its own good time and then I’ll be back to pounding that seawall into submission.

But until then, alternates WILL be found …

Have a fit, fun and fantastic day.

Today's a cardio day. I usually go running. Since I dropped that 35lb plate on my foot yesterday, now what?

Yeeeah … so, um …

… further to my LAST post “No Whiners, No Excuses … Just Get ‘er Done!” where I confessed to having dropped a 35lb barbell plate on my foot during my last weight training workout (but not letting it stop me from finishing my workout) …

… here’s how the NEXT day went, when it was time to figure out what I was gonna do about getting my usual cardio session in (seeing as I usually go running, which requires healthy feet) …

So, here’s the deal …

If you DO screw up and wind up with an injury, it’s fine to experiment with what you think you can continue with …

… but if it becomes obvious that you’re gonna have to give it some down time to repair, then DO IT!

Don’t make things worse by being stubborn.

But, still find ways AROUND the problem so you can still get your sweat on, okay?

Seriously.

An injury really is NO EXCUSE.

Lower body injury? Work your upper body that much harder.

Upper body injury? Get it going on with an intense lower body workout.

And however you decide to work out, JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET SWEATY!

GOT IT?

GOOD!

I’m certainly not going to let the fact that I have to take a break from running interfere with getting my “cardio burn” in on schedule. Heck if I can’t replace my run with stairwell climbs either then I’ll be out swimming or even using the rowing machine if I have to …

So, I’ll see you out there workin’ it … no matter what.

Have a fit, fun and fantastic day!
Girlwithnoname

I got sloppy during my workout today and now I'm paying the price. I'm pretty sure my foot isn't broken, but we'll see how this messes with my workout schedule.

Uh oh.

I did a stupid thing while working out today.

I got sloppy.

Of course, I’m human and mistakes happen.

But this one dumb move could put a damper on my usual regular workout routine for a while.

Only time will tell …

So, listen. Be careful out there.

Sport ain’t safe, so take extra care not to be sloppy and cause yourself a preventable injury, ok?

But, on THAT note … if you do get a boo-boo and that’s all it is: a little boo-boo that can easily be worked around …

… well, then THAT’s no excuse to throw in the towel for the day, the week, the month or (heaven forbid) forever …

Stop crying, pick yourself up … and GET ‘ER DONE!

I’m sure I’ll be fine in no time. I don’t let this kinda stuff keep me down for long.

See ya soon.

Have a fit, fun and fantastic day!

HAHA…. remember that old commercial?

“Is it Live? Or is it Memorex?”

I find that line funny with respect to this post title … or is it just me losing my mind?

Yup, me losing my mind. And it wouldn’t be the first time. LOL

So, I’ve got some lower back issues after some deadlifts the other day.

Are the deadlifts to blame?

Or did I sleep funny?

I dunno.

How do YOU tell if its DOMS or a strain when you’re stiff?

So … seriously!! How do YOU know? I really want to know. Make sure you post your comment below and let’s compare notes.
