Yup.

Labour Day weekend came. Which to me, means Summer ended (well, unofficially anyway).

And I got a piece of bad news.

Overall, the long weekend had me in quite a pissy mood.

In the past this kind of sudden, shocking bad news would put me into a funk where I just want to sit around pouting and feeling sorry for myself and really not have ANY energy at all for much more than that.

Bad News

Bad news can do that to you … it drains you of all your energy and ‘get up and go’, am I right?

And trying to work out is unthinkable, seemingly impossible.

But nowadays I know better. I’ve been at this ‘fitness’ thing long enough now to have learned some valuable lessons from it.

The first thing I instinctively wanted to do after getting this bad news was hit the weight stack HARD then go for a run.

Energy or no energy, bad mood be-damned, I was gonna get out there and get it done.

Why?

Cuz over the years I’ve learned something VERY helpful about how working out can actually help you get over that bad news and get back to life as you know it.

Like so:

See what I mean?

Temporary or permanent, the change of mood is WORTH getting out there anyway.

Don’t let a bad mood or unexpected bad news sabotage you.

Get on with it and get over it!

Have a fit, fun and fantastic day.
