Alrighty!

You asked for it… you GOT IT!

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned on my Facebook page that I was getting frustrated with my workout playlist because I was not only getting bored of what I was hearing all the time but my mp3 player didn’t seem to want to play my NEWEST songs… like… EVER. And those were the ones I MOST wanted to hear …

… which meant I was spending WAY too much time during my workout hitting ‘next’ on my player trying to get to songs that would make me want to MOVE MY ASS…

Motivating Workout Music

And I also mentioned that I’d decided to “Sophie’s Choice” my list of over 1,000 songs down to approximately 100 of the VERY best of the best.

Someone asked me to list them all and someone else followed up to say they were also interested in my list.

I laughed and asked them if they thought I had three hours to just sit around and type out over 100 song titles and artists.

Then I got thinking.

And it haunted me because I figured maybe these would be songs YOU would find inspiring and motivating, too.

And that’s what I’m all about… helping you find ways to get to your goals.

Please keep in mind that these are songs that MOTIVATE ME… and I’m only posting this list because I was asked to.

So here’s a WARNING:

I personally have no objection to and take no offense myself to a few swear words here and there so some of these songs DO have swear words in them… if you download any of these for yourself or listen to them on YouTube and they offend you, I accept no responsibility for that.

Download at YOUR OWN RISK if you’re sensitive to that kind of thing.

And for Pete’s sake… they’re just songs. Lighten up.

BUT… if you’re at work or near children then I urge you to download and listen responsibly. Don’t get yourself fired and don’t expose impressionable young ears to naughty language.

Another thing to note is that while I do talk a lot about how angsty, anger-filled music DOES fuel me, I have an eclectic taste when it comes to workout music.

It doesn’t always need to be about crazy, harsh, grinding angst (but sometimes it does).

Sometimes it’s only the beautiful melody that makes me move… sometimes it’s only the lyrics that touch me deep inside and gives me energy. And sometimes it’s the searing hate, countless swear words and driving beat pouring out of the speakers that revs me up.

So I think you’re going to be surprised by a LOT of these songs.

And if you’re getting ready to start downloading like a demon, I should also warn you that I don’t think you’ll find some of these songs ANYWHERE on YouTube, iTunes, Amazon or anywhere else (but feel free to try).

Remember, I used to be a bit of a weirdo back in the ’80s and I have a lot of very obscure old punk, import and local collectibles in my collection. I’ve had them professionally ripped from my personal vinyl for my mp3 collection and I’m likely the only person in the world that owns an mp3 for some of them.

So, here ya go… after 3 stressful hours of typing … (haha, just kidding, it only took me about a half hour after all) … here are all 112 tracks (in alphabetical order) of my BEST OF THE BEST workout playlist.

So? What’d ya think?

Which of these are you adding to your playlist?
